Matariki and Digital Creativity
Adara has established a digital space for Wairoa, with the goal of bringing the digital world to this Hawkes Bay Township, Adara does not rely on funding to execute these activities, but invests personally to make this platform fun and interactive.
Utilising this space for Tamariki and Whānau alike, we can help strengthen and inform them on how to properly use technology and its capabilities in the modern era, working with other local providers in this space as well as national brands like; E-Sports NZ and Waikato University.
Our vision is to provide educational tools during Matariki and other important events in Wairoa. Our Game Coaches are on-site to provide technical assistance and ensure fun and balanced play for all participants, these activities are entrepreneurial funded.
In between educational events we also use the space for kid friendly entertainment, such as our Kids Club at the Wairoa Tennis Club providing Wairoa with games and tournaments to teach co-operation, co-ordination and team spirit in a disciplined digital environment.
During the Matariki festivities, we provide a digital and educational event for Tamariki, Rangatahi and Whānau to come and play games and learn about the many aspects of Te Ao Māori such as Our Maunga and Our Awa and their significance.
The Matariki Story is a vital message that we portray through visual arts, animation and story-telling and each year we deliver a local story as part of the celebrations. ADARA hosts several tournaments in conjunction with our Matariki Event for local participants with prizes for the Winners.
Gaming Club
Embracing the capability of tamariki, developing their skills through a series of gaming to compete at a competitive level by focussing on keyboard compatibility and mouse co-ordination in conjunction with gaming and other outdoor sports that we host in Wairoa, such as Archery and Tennis to improve hand-eye co-ordination.
Assisting Tamariki to develop an understanding of entrepreneurial skills in the digital world, incorporated through competitive gaming, preparation for tournaments and to play individually on a regional and national level of competitive gaming to the capacity of E-Sports.
This also includes online safety, multi-platform compatibility and developing a skillset that assists for educational day to day tasks such as, computer literacy, assignment creation and delivery, content creation and prerequisite skills for future employment.
ADARA host E-Sports events for the Wairoa community, specifically entertaining adults that are active in the gaming platform and hold regular competitions that assist with keeping gaming active. This particular platform also host National Champions attending, to assist with the growth in our Tamariki gaming space.
